A PLACE TO HEAL, THE COURAGE TO CHANGE……..
This is the phrase I used to describe the work I do and the goal for which I have invested most of my adult life.
Milton Erickson stated “Change will lead to insight far more often than insight will lead to change.” People come to my office and talk for a variety of reasons. I will say that most come because of something or a series of somethings have happened in their life for which they need to think it through with the compassion of another person to find meaning and something on the other side of what they are experiencing.
People often ask me why people come to therapy. Some come for themes which persist from their childhood for which they want peace. Some come dealing with relationship issues of various kinds. Some simply seek a listening ear as they seek to make a decisions or series of decisions for what is next in their life. I will walk with you as you discern what is the next step or steps.
The list goes on: Depression, Anxiety, developing better communication skills for work and relationships, a multitude of mental health themes and themes related to addiction and substance abuse, and issues of sexuality. Sometimes therapy is used alongside medication to find healing. Other times, talk therapy alone will be enough.
This place is open for each of you to find your way to health and healing which takes work and courage to venture through.
What I have come to realize in 20 years of clinical practice is that I don’t have all the answers, but what I do have is a voracious curiosity and inquisitive spirit that searches alongside of you for the why and what next. I am committed to you and your healing process as I sit with you.
