Kayla Myers
“The best way to find out whether you’re on the right path? Stop looking at the path.”
– Marcus Buckingham
Allow me to introduce Kayla Myers, a dedicated senior majoring in psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). With her eyes set on earning a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Kayla is passionately treading the academic and experiential path to achieve her aspirations.
During her time at SIUE, Kayla has immersed herself in various research labs, collaborating with esteemed professionals like Dr. Ro and Dr. Pawlow. These experiences have not only allowed her to develop research skills but have also instilled an interest in the intricate workings of the human mind.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Kayla has recently embarked on a new journey as an intern at Optimal Focus Counseling. This role holds special significance, as it aligns perfectly with her goal of becoming a therapist. She aspires to leverage this internship as a steppingstone, a means to grow and gain invaluable firsthand experience in the field she’s so passionate about.
